Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of WP Vault (“the app”). By installing or using it you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple’s Media Services Terms and Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), which applies to this app. If those Apple terms conflict with these, Apple’s terms win as to Apple.
Your backups and your rights
Use WP Vault only with backups you own or are otherwise entitled to open, and only with the encryption key that belongs to that backup. You are responsible for having that right. Your backups are processed on your device: we never receive your backups, your keys or your messages, and we cannot recover them for you. The app’s anonymous usage statistics are described in the Privacy Policy. Keep your original backup files; WP Vault is a viewer, not a backup service.
Free trial and purchase
- Every install includes full access for seven days. The seven days start when you first successfully import one of your own backups, measured with your device’s clock. Opening the bundled sample archive, or an import that fails, does not start the trial, and once started the trial does not restart if you delete an archive or import another.
- After the trial, without a purchase, the app keeps your most recent chat and its 20 newest messages readable.
- “Full Archive Access” is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks every chat, the full message history, archive-wide search and the table browser. It is not a subscription and never renews.
- The price is shown in the app in your local currency before you buy (US$9.99 in the United States). Payment is charged to your Apple ID.
- The purchase is tied to your Apple ID, works with Family Sharing where you have it enabled, and can be restored on any device you sign in to with Restore Purchases.
- Apple handles payments and refunds. To request a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
Acceptable use
Don’t use the app to open data you have no right to access, and don’t use it in a way that breaks the law or violates anyone’s rights. Don’t copy, resell or redistribute the app, and don’t reverse engineer it except where the law expressly allows.
No affiliation
WP Vault is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. WhatsApp is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC, used only to describe which backups the app can open.
Accuracy and availability
Backup formats belong to third parties and can change. We work to display your data faithfully, but we can’t guarantee that every message, attachment or format will open or render.
No warranty and limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Changes and ending these terms
We may update these terms and the app; the current version is always on this page, with its date. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it.
