FOOM Terms of Use

Last updated: 5 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of FOOM (“the game”) on iPhone and iPad. By installing or playing it you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the game.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to play the game on devices you own or control. On iPhone and iPad this is under Apple’s Media Services Terms and Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If Apple’s terms conflict with these, Apple’s terms win as to the App Store.

Who can play

The game is intended for people aged 13 and over. If the age at which you may make purchases or consent to data processing is higher where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

Free to play, videos and purchases

Every city, radio track, story and ending is free. The game offers optional rewarded videos (Sponsored Compute) that you start yourself; there are no banners and no ads between screens. It also offers optional in-app purchases.

Prices are shown in the App Store in your local currency before you buy. In US dollars: FOOM Without Ads US$4.99, Founder’s Pack US$4.99, and Wafer packs of 100 for US$0.99, 550 for US$4.99 and 1,200 for US$9.99. There are no subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple account; we never see your payment details.

FOOM Without Ads and the Founder’s Pack are one-time purchases. FOOM Without Ads and the Founder’s Pack cosmetics can be restored on the same Apple account with Restore purchases. Wafers, including the Wafers bundled with the Founder’s Pack, are delivered once and are not restored after reinstalling or on another device.

Wafers and other virtual items

Wafers are an in-game currency you can buy or earn and spend on time warps and cosmetics. Nothing in the game is sold as a random reward. Wafers and other virtual items have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and are not redeemable for money.

Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple, who handles refunds under its own policy at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, digital content delivered immediately may no longer be eligible for the statutory right of withdrawal once delivery has started, as shown to you when you buy; your other consumer rights are not affected. If something you paid for was not delivered, reopen the game or use Restore purchases, and email us if it is still missing.

Your progress

Your progress is stored on your device (see the Privacy Policy). There is no FOOM account and we cannot recover a lost save, so export your save from Settings to keep a copy. Resetting your lab, clearing browser data or removing the app deletes it.

Acceptable use

Play fairly: don’t use cheats, modified versions or automation to obtain purchases or rewards, and don’t use the game in a way that breaks the law or violates anyone’s rights. Don’t copy, resell or redistribute the game, and don’t reverse engineer it except where the law expressly allows. FOOM is fiction: its labs, people, companies and events are invented or satirical.

Availability and changes

We may update the game, change or retire features, prices and offers, and update these terms; the current version is always on this page, with its date. You can stop at any time by deleting the game.

No warranty and limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the game is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages or for lost progress. Our total liability for any claim relating to the game is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
